Our Sister Shot in Mouth
In the thick of agitations against Police brutality, a fellow citizen fell victim to a trigger-happy officer who shot her in the mouth at Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.
Extensive rehabilitation and trauma care will be required for Miss Joy (victim).
Avale Intervention Program is committing to helping facilitate support for her immediate well-being and long-term recovery.
Seed fund has been released to this effect. Please, support.
Remember Our Teachers
With academic activities halted in March due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, many schools have been unable to pay their staff salaries. School fees account for over 90% of schools’ revenue. The shutdown has made it almost
impossible for salaries to be paid.
Even if things return to normal, it may be difficult for parents to pay up timely making the backlog more difficult to be cleared and teachers’ welfare even more difficult.
This campaign aims to provide the much-needed palliative required to cushion the effect of the non-payment of salaries on teachers. Funds raised will be disbursed to the affected teachers after due diligence and verification.
Learn From Home
Ordinarily, our children face a lot of challenges in their educational pursuit – poor, uninformed, and uneducated parents; lack of basic amenities especially electricity; lack of ICT knowledge and tools. However, this pandemic has not only added to the endless continuum of barriers they are confronted with, it has also made their vulnerability glaringly apparent relative to their more affluent peers who can access online education.
Today as we celebrate Children’s Day, we encourage you to support our Lend A Helping Hand Campaign to continue to provide Learn From Home packs to the children on our program. Although schools have been closed since March, learning has not stopped!
Every week within the past two months, we have provided printed learning resources and worksheets in a folder for every child from Nursery to Secondary School. The Bethesda #LearnFromHome initiative ensures that learning does not stop and that students are adequately engaged until school reopens. Our administrative staff and teachers across our schools in Lagos and Ogun State have worked tirelessly to ensure every child gets these resources in the safest possible way while deploying WHO recommended hygiene and health practices
To keep a child engaged for a month with a #LearnFromHome pack costs N5,000. This Children’s Day, we want you to join us in providing this special gift of learning from home to 1,000 disadvantaged children!
